I unfortunately can not give a general advice, it depends on the person, his ability to remember, the time she has got etc.. There is no general rule to apply. It should rather ask a person (Imam) in your neighborhood who knows you or whom you can ask this question, and who, according to your personality, can usefully advise you .

Question :
Good evening Doctor,
I've recently read a book dealing with the rites of Hajj in Saudi Arabia; different views of Hanbali, Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanefite Schools are expressed in it . I have been stunned to read that the farewell tawaf is not an obligation according to Maliki school, it is indicated as preferably (moustaheb), However for the rest of the schools it is indicated as an obligation (ouadjeb). Personally, I consider the tawaf of the farewell as a sacred obligaton. What do you think about this isuue?

Prescribing something as a mandatory pillar does not occur this way, from what we understand and the Hadeeth and Quranic texts. You need a qualification otherwise larger and more complex than this. This can only be that of scholars who have followed a course of religious studies well established. Declaring the Tawaf Wada does not operate as you indicated.
Scholars who say that a prescription (hukm) is an obligation, a pillar or a simple recommendation follow procedures contained in the science of usul fiqh.
Indeed there is a difference of interpretation of the hadith that speaks of Tawaf Wada '. In effect, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"None can leave Mecca unless he/she visits The Kaa'bah. (Reported by Muslim).
Imams Abu Hanifa, Ahmad, Shafi'i and the majority of scholars believe that it is mandatory wajib (not a pillar). And he who does not carry it has to sacrifice a sheep and distribute its meat in Mecca. This springs from the first and literal understanding of this hadeeth.
For Imam Malik, it is a prophetic recommendation (sunnah), and this is also the view of few other scholars. For Imam Malik, if this w Tawaf was an obligation, it would not be permissible for a mestrating woman not to perform it and leave to Medina. Indeed, the Prophet had allowed menstrating women not to perform it and leave to Medina, at least to those who accompanied him. Indeed, an obligation which was not performed can be expiated by a Fidia (sacrifice in one of three forms of FIDYA).
Through this example, you see that not everyone can declare that a requirement is mandatory or Sunna and it's not on the basis of one Hadith to draw a religious requirement.

Question :
Salam Aleikoum,
As you know prices are persistently increasing and for that reason I'm still waiting to collect the ideal budget so that I can perform Hajj along with my wife. I want to economize. My question is that I have got an amount of 7000 € and it represents all what I have as finacial means by which I want to complete Hajj. So, is it possible to borrow certain amount of money from a friend considering that he accepts to offer that money and that it is from a Halal income? Many thanks

Yes, you can borrow to go to Hajj, provided you are able to repay later. If you can not pay, then do not borrow, because the Hajj is obligatory only upon those who are financially capable .
If you borrow, you must write down your debts before you leave so that your children and your relatives know and repay in case of any problem.

Hajj does not compensate the unfulfilled prayers or fasting days required (Ramadan) .
If you did not perform the obligatory prayers, you have to perform them then. You can perform them day by day. For example, for each prayer performed today, you perform afterwards, the same prayer for another day and equally for the days of Ramadan you missed .
It is not mandatory to fast them day after day . You can fast a day, then you relax a few days and then fast another day and so on.

Question :
Salam Alaikom, I would like to offer money to accomplish Hajj for my parents but they decline because they have the means to accomplish it themselves. I want to know if they can go to Hajj with my money(which is my hope) or is it prohibited for them because they could do it themselves. Many thanks
The answer :
Dr. Mostafa Brahami
Wa alikoum salam, There are no hindrances to accoplish Hajj by a money which is received as a donation. In your case, offering money to accomplish Hajj for your parents is a highly cherished act appreciated by God and his prophet. By the contrary, your parents have to accept this money even if they have got the means by which they could accomplish Hajj themselves and only God knows. Mostafa Brahami
Question :
Salam Alaikum, i have read a number of books but none clearly states what clothes has the Hadj to wear? What clothes are allowed for the man in addition to the two white cloth? Thank you for your help
The answer :
Dr. Mostafa Brahami
Wa alikoum salam, During the period of sacralization (Ihram) of the Hajj or the Umrah , men are not allowed to wear any underwears under the the white cloth. Underwears are not permitted to men. Equally, he has to take off his shoes and wear sandals. This goes all along the period of sacralization. Once it is over he can wear casual clothes. It is only in case of chronic diseases that the man can wear underwears. He then has to sacrify a sheep for this transgression. If it is during Hajj , this sheep has to be sacrified in case of tamattu' and qirân. If the person is poor he has to feed 6 persons, if not he/she has to fast 3days in Mecca and 7 days when returned to home. The woman wears the veil and she is not concerned by undressing and only God knows. Salam
Question :
Salam ! I want to go on Hajj this year but i have some doubts, could you please illuminate for me? In effect, i have a bank loan (of my house) that still not totally refunded ( i still have to refund for 5 years) and i want to know if I have to wait until the loan is totally refunded or can I go on Hajj even if it's not completely refunded? thank you
The answer :
Dr. Mostafa Brahami
Wa alikum salam, within the principle that is not obligatory for a person who is indebted unless he/she pays it back. Because the human rights of men are prioritized in cases of obligations. Nonetheless, erudites allow the accoplishment of a Hajj or an Umra and then the debts could be paid back if the person thinks he/she could pay back. This person has to acknowledge his debts to his relatives so that they could pay it back in case of a major problem and only God knows. Salam
Question :
Salam Alaikom ! I'm a women living in France and I want to go on an Umra. I want to know how to do?
The answer :
Dr. Mostafa Brahami
Salam alikoum, as I mentioned in my book on Hajj , where all the references are mentioned, so many erudites (Mâlik, Shâfii, Ibn Taymiyya and others..) allow the woman to accoplish the rites when she is whith a group of men or confident women. In your case, if you're going with an agency or a group of muslims you can accomplish your Umra with no hindrances and only God knows. Salam
