Prince Khalid Al-Faisal initiated the pilgrims’ awareness campaign
Published in 16.08.10

The Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal;   launched the national information campaign. He insisted that the main target of such a campaign is to ensure the safe and secure atmosphere to allow Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to perform their rituals in the best conditions meanwhile improving the services offered to them.

He added that the Saudi government has the honor to serve pilgrims and it spares no efforts to guarantee their safety and offer them suitable conditions to accomplish their rituals at ease.

Prince Khalid profited from the opportunity to glorify the development projects for the Holy Mosque and the holy sites too.

According to him: “he who follows the services provided  to the guests of Allah will undoubtedly  distinguish  the difference  and development in these projects, which are of great concern to King Abdullah and are being followed up by him personally,”

He added, “The programs for the national information campaign for creating awareness among the guests of Allah seeks to spread  the culture of sanctifying Mecca during the Hajj and Umrah seasons for all the guests of Allah, service providers and all individuals in the society through the launching of awareness campaigns, like Hajj is worship and civilized conduct.’”

Prince Khalid emphasized the focus of these campaigns to respect Mecca’s city and its sanctity by at least having an idea about the city’s huge responsibilities and great importance, keenly dealing with Umrah and Hajj pilgrims, increasing the standard of performance of those serving them and respecting the laws, regulations and directives.

The Prince Khalid expressed his thank to all the employees including security men, civilians and volunteers for their considerable efforts and their determination to guarantee the comfort and safety of the guests of Allah.

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the campaign’s sponsor to, namely Mobily and Zain for their cooperation and effective sponsorship.  He did not let the occasion pass without wishing a good stay to Umrah pilgrims; he prayed that Allah accept their good deeds.

Luxury hotels in Mecca were full for Hajj
Luxury hotels around the Grand Mosque in Mecca were running full for this year's Hajj despite hundreds of new rooms opening. "Makkah Hilton & Towers were a sell-out for the month surrounding Hajj," said Shuja Zaidi, the hotel's general manager and vice president for Hilton Worldwide projects in Saudi Arabia. "We had expected rates to be lower than in 2010 due to the increased supply of hotel rooms in and around the Haram." But demand exceeded supply and rates remained "in line" with last year.
