The Saudi tour operators increased the round-trip Umrah package rates from Riyadh by about 60 percent.  Prices are expected to witness more augmentation to reach 150 percent during Ramadan’s last ten days.

According to the online newspaper Saudi Gazette Muhammad, the representative of Ibn Al-Qayyim for Haj and Umrah, told them that current rate for a three-day package to Mecca and Median is SR150 per person including transportation and hotel accommodation.

There is no doubt that  the number of people who wish to perform Umrah during the holy month of Ramadan increased considerably which contributes to further push the prices .
An Umrah package rate for a five-day round-trip from Riyadh to Mecca and Medina is SR180.
the augmentation  in Umrah package rates is not something new but Muslims not only in Saudi Arabia but all over the world are accustomed to it especially during Ramadan.

Nonetheless, tour operators are offering a subsidization of 10 to 15 percent to families.
Some tour operators are stipulating extra rate charges for accommodation intended to be near the Haram.
