Published in 24.08.10

According to Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah , the Saudi Health Minister, The Ministry of Health is implementing an integrated health plan for Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan.

The minister declared that “During the holy month, they  are implementing a special health plan in both Mecca and Medina to provide preventive and curative services to the pilgrims who visit  these two cities,”

He announced that that the Mecca has set a number of health centers in and outside the Grand Mosque.

The ministry has set a health center on the second floor of the Grand Mosque along with five other centers that are operating round the clock during Ramadan inside the Holy Haram.

Dr.Abdullah Al-Rabeeah declared that they “have set up the fifth first help center in the precincts of the Holy Mosque too. This center treats emergencies that require medical attention for the over crowdedness and the Mosque’s congestion”.

Luxury hotels in Mecca were full for Hajj
Luxury hotels around the Grand Mosque in Mecca were running full for this year's Hajj despite hundreds of new rooms opening. "Makkah Hilton & Towers were a sell-out for the month surrounding Hajj," said Shuja Zaidi, the hotel's general manager and vice president for Hilton Worldwide projects in Saudi Arabia. "We had expected rates to be lower than in 2010 due to the increased supply of hotel rooms in and around the Haram." But demand exceeded supply and rates remained "in line" with last year.
