According to Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah , the Saudi Health Minister, The Ministry of Health is implementing an integrated health plan for Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan.
The minister declared that “During the holy month, they are implementing a special health plan in both Mecca and Medina to provide preventive and curative services to the pilgrims who visit these two cities,”
He announced that that the Mecca has set a number of health centers in and outside the Grand Mosque.
The ministry has set a health center on the second floor of the Grand Mosque along with five other centers that are operating round the clock during Ramadan inside the Holy Haram.
Dr.Abdullah Al-Rabeeah declared that they “have set up the fifth first help center in the precincts of the Holy Mosque too. This center treats emergencies that require medical attention for the over crowdedness and the Mosque’s congestion”.
He added that many preventive measures have been taken and medical teams are distributed everywhere. All the Saudi entry points sea and land are being controlled to ensure that the incoming pilgrims are following the requirements.
The Minister added to say that all the pilgrims are to be checked to make sure that they have received the recommended vaccinations from their countries of origin.
He declared that “as a preventive measure, those who have not taken the recommended vaccines will be given such doses at the entry point”.
About one million Pilgrims from different nationalities visit the holy cities of Mecca and Medina during Ramadan and the Saudi officials are doing their best to ensure the best conditions for pilgrims to perform their rituals in the most suitable atmosphere.
