Published in 30.11.11

During 3 days, from Saturday, December the 17th to Monday, December the 19th, the SIMM will welcome craftsmen, wholesalers, cultural and trade officers, as well as international Muslim scholars.

Exhibitors and guests will display their expertise and unveil the diversity of the Muslim culture as well as its intellectual and spiritual values.

Under the mottoes of « Knowledge », « Know-How » and « Letting know », the 2011 edition will showcase a rich and various program: conferences, workshops, animations, exhibitions, world food degustation, women fashion show.

Both « know how » and « letting know » areas will provide networking opportunities for French and international entrepreneurs, governmental bodies and associations, potential customers, public and trade visitors. The « knowledge » area will be a platform of expression where attendees will discover the role of Islam in the achievement of the European civilization and how can this heritage participate, as such, in building more equitable and healthier societies.

In a context of doubt but also hope for change, the International fair of the Muslim World (SIMM) will be a unique platform to discover and emphasize the cultural diversity and amazing contribution of the Muslim heritage worldwide. This first-time event aims at changing one’s vision: by getting to know each others, by considering social, ethnical and religious differences as an asset and not a threat, we can inspire change, and therefore build up a peaceful and successful society.

The main theme for 2011 edition will help to get to know an emblematic, however not well known man: Muhammad. The Prophet of Islam.

International keynote speakers from various religions and backgrounds will share their vision about Muhammad’s life, role, and the contribution of his message both individually and collectively within worldwide societies. Several points of views thus, to promote the «vivre ensemble » by sharing experiences and knowledge, through open and respectful exchanges.

Book your agenda from December the 17th to the 19th for the International Fair of the Muslim World, the unique meeting point for discovering Islamic values and culture in Paris.

Luxury hotels in Mecca were full for Hajj
Luxury hotels around the Grand Mosque in Mecca were running full for this year's Hajj despite hundreds of new rooms opening. "Makkah Hilton & Towers were a sell-out for the month surrounding Hajj," said Shuja Zaidi, the hotel's general manager and vice president for Hilton Worldwide projects in Saudi Arabia. "We had expected rates to be lower than in 2010 due to the increased supply of hotel rooms in and around the Haram." But demand exceeded supply and rates remained "in line" with last year.
