The Saudi Press Agency reported that the search to find effective solutions to give a halt to the traffic and pedestrian crowdedness especially during Hajj season and the holy month of Ramadan was the topic of the discussion held by The Makkah and Holy Sites Development Authority (MHSDA) members under the presidency of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal its Chairman.
Prince Khaled Al-Faisal , the Governor of Mecca Prince and Chair of MHSDA, presided the meeting held at his office in Mecca.
The meeting also dealt with proposals to augment the Grand Mosque’s capacity, the Mataf (where circumambulation occurs) and the courtyards. They also discussed the issue of congestion and crowdedness management along with other services to be provided to pilgrims.
The meeting was attended by Saudi officials and the mayor of Mecca Mr, Osama Al-Barr, the Governor’s Office Undersecretary Abdul Aziz Al-Khodairy and the Secretary-General of the MHSDA Sami Barhamin.
