The Two Holy Mosques General Presidency has assigned 300 women to help the increasing number of women pilgrims and the visitors to the Grand Mosque during Ramadan.
The Supervisor Mr. Khaled Al-Subaie declared that the main role of the women guides in the Grand Mosque is to enlighten and inform women pilgrims if ever they need help, especially on religious rites during the holy month of Ramadan.
They offer pieces of advice to women Umrah pilgrims on how they have to conduct themselves in the mosque. They accompany women to the entries reserved to them too.
Al-Subaie added to say that 151 women guides out of the 300 were working in four shifts at different locations in the holy mosque.
They played the role of inspecting the women visitors at the gates and entries during the day as well as the night. In the meantime, 20 women guides controlled the hygiene in the women’s area and the toilets in two shifts. Moreover, 10 other guides handled the mission to ensure that copies of the Holy Qur’an are kept in the women’s section.
Other 20 women guides took the mission of making sure that womenUmrah pilgrims are not praying in the passages and walkways in the courtyards.
He added to say that all types of required help are being given to Umrah women pilgrims to offer them a suitable atmosphere to accomplish their rites in the best conditions.
