Tunisia ensures its engagement to avoid Umrah Overstays

Mr. Abu Bakr Alakhozori, the Tunisian Minister of Religious Affairs insisted on the limitless efforts of the Tunisian authorities on not allowing Umrah pilgrims to overstay the precise dates of their return after performing the rituals of their Umrah.

On his talk to the SPA, the minister reaffirmed that point mentioning that protective measures are being taken. He declared that the authorities have taken series of practical measures to completely eliminate this phenomenon which violates regulations set by both Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.

Furthermore, Mr. Abu Bakr Alakhozori said that Tunisian competent authorities have received about  80,000 applications for performing Hajj for 2010.

Luxury hotels in Mecca were full for Hajj
Luxury hotels around the Grand Mosque in Mecca were running full for this year's Hajj despite hundreds of new rooms opening. "Makkah Hilton & Towers were a sell-out for the month surrounding Hajj," said Shuja Zaidi, the hotel's general manager and vice president for Hilton Worldwide projects in Saudi Arabia. "We had expected rates to be lower than in 2010 due to the increased supply of hotel rooms in and around the Haram." But demand exceeded supply and rates remained "in line" with last year.
