Prince Naif, the supreme Hajj committee chairman, Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, denied the notion that Saudi Arabia is making profits from the pilgrimage.
The prince said, when receiving the minister of Hajj Dr Fouad Al-Farsy and other Hajj officials, that the idea that the Kingdom is reaping profit from the Hajj is absolutely false, pointing out that the services offered by the Saudi authorities are free of charge except for housing, food and transportation.
The prince added that a number of presidents of state expressed their strong admiration of the way Saudi Arabia has been handling millions of pilgrims coming from all over the world. He also said that any suggestions that can help resolve problems during the Hajj season are welcomed.
