The Saudi authorities have deployed more than 50,000 security officers to ensure the secure and safe ground as well conditions for over 105 million pilgrims to perform Ramadan’s Umrah.

The main purpose is to provide the best quality services to Mecca visitors and to offer Pilgrims the opportunity to perform the rituals of their Umrah in the safest and most comfortable atmosphere.

Mecca visitors devote Ramadan to worship Allah. The holy month represents a good occasion to supplicate and worship Allah, the greatest, the unique.

The Deputy President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Dr. Muhammad Al-Khezaim, declared that  the presidency’s plan seeks  to guarantee the secure  and comfortable atmosphere to pilgrims during their worship of  Allah.  It also seeks to teach them issues about their religion.

The Five-point plan

Dr. Muhammad Al-Khezaim declared that the plan covers five points.

The first point constitutes informing the pilgrims about the Islamic fundamental principles.
Islamic teachings lessons are always to be held by multilingual and who can address the different nationalities of pilgrims.
Different multilingual brochures are distributed to easily and simply guide the pilgrims during their Umrah.

The second point includes the guarantee of informing the pilgrims about Zemzem water security, where they can find translated versions of the holy Qur’an and where persons with reduced mobility or disabled could find wheelchairs.

The third point is furnishing the different yards of the Haram with carpets.

The fourth point is to supervise pilgrims when entering the Grand Mosque to restrict the quantity of dates and coffee taken into the Mosque  .
The plan’s fifth point is to keep round-the-clock cleanliness of the Holy Haram.

The Deputy President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques  announced that 5,702 employees, males and females, have been assigned to carry out this plan  .


According to the Mayor of Mecca, Dr. Osama Bin Fadl Al-Bar, the mayoralty has set an integrated plan to define the tasks of the mayoralty’s various agencies and administrations during the holy month of Ramadan.

He announced that several groups  have been formed in order to control the implementation of the plan.
He added that 8,500 cleaners with 810 cleaning machines and equipment have been assigned by the mayoralty to ensure the cleanliness of the city streets. Equally, seven temporary stations have been set in different locations in the holy city to keep it clean.

The Mayor said that the mayoralty has attached special heed to slaughterhouses. Some hundreds of veterinarians have been assigned to examine all the animals that will be slaughtered to make sure that they are not sick and can be consumed. Due to the increased demand for meat in Ramadan, efforts to guarantee its cleanliness have to be redoubled, he said.
Additionally, many inspectors are assigned to tighten the control over all the food facilities in the holy city to ensure that they are restricted to the healthy standards.

Finally, All the Saudi Officials spare no effort  to guarantee the secure, safe and comfortable atmosphere for pilgrims to perfom their Umrah.
